Using IPTV on multiple devices: connections explained

You can install your IPTV login on every screen in the house. What’s limited is how many can play at the same moment. Here’s how that works in practice.

"Can I use IPTV on more than one TV?" is one of the most common questions we get. The answer is yes — with one important distinction between installing and streaming.

Installing vs streaming

  • Installing: you can add your ProTVHub login to as many devices as you like — the living-room Firestick, the bedroom TV, phones, tablets and a laptop.
  • Streaming: only a certain number of those devices can play something at the same time. Each simultaneous stream is called a connection.

Connections on each ProTVHub plan

Plan Price Simultaneous connections
1 Month £15 1
3 Months £30 2
6 Months £40 2
12 Months £60 3
24 Months £85 5
Lifetime £199 5

What happens if you go over the limit?

If your plan allows two connections and a third device starts playing, the extra stream won't start (or one of the existing streams may stop, depending on the player). Close the stream on another device and try again. Nothing is wrong with the service — the line is simply protecting its limit.

Tip: a player left playing on a TV in an empty room still counts. Getting into the habit of stopping playback — or turning off the stick, not just the TV — avoids surprise "connection limit" messages.

How many connections does your household need?

Think about the busiest moment of a typical week, not an average evening:

  • One person, one TV — 1 connection is enough.
  • A couple who sometimes watch different things — 2 connections.
  • A family with a main TV plus bedrooms or phones — 3 connections.
  • Larger households, or sport fans who follow several events at once — 5 connections.

Does each device need more bandwidth?

Yes. Every stream uses its own share of your broadband — about 10Mbps for HD and 25Mbps for 4K. Three HD streams need around 30Mbps between them. See what speed you need for IPTV.

Mixing devices and players

You can use different apps on different devices with the same login: TiviMate on the living-room Fire TV, IPTV Smarters on a phone, a MAG box in the kitchen. Each one counts as a connection only while it's playing. For MAG boxes, which are linked by MAC address, ask the team when you order — see the MAG box guide.

Upgrading later

If your household grows or you find yourself hitting the limit, message support about moving to a longer plan with more connections. You can compare the connections included with every IPTV plan.

Common questions

Can I use one IPTV subscription on two TVs?

Yes, if your plan includes two or more connections. The 3- and 6-month plans include two, the 12-month plan three and the 24-month and Lifetime plans five.

Does a paused stream use a connection?

Usually yes, while the player is holding the stream open. Stop playback or exit the app to free the connection.

Can I add more connections to my plan?

Message the team on WhatsApp to discuss moving to a plan with more simultaneous connections.
